Non-road

Innovations for environmentally-compatible non-road applications

Eberspächer Exhaust Technology

Environmentally friendly technologies are increasingly becoming a key criterion in the non-road vehicle market. Manufacturers who already comply with the statutory limits of the future will guarantee themselves an important lead over their competitors. Due to the more stringent exhaust emissions standards, which will come into force in 2011 in Europe and the USA with Stage III B and Tier 4 interim, much more will be required of future exhaust systems.

Up until now, diesel particle filters (DPF) or SCR systems (selective catalytic reduction) could usually be avoided using engine modifications only. This situation will change again significantly, depending on engine power, when the tighter Tier 4 final comes into force in 2013. Technological solutions for the most varied of applications and installation spaces will then be required.

More than 360 highly-qualified engineers and technicians work in our in-house ideas factories – or often on-site with the customer – on solutions for the future. When designing new technologies, we use the same modern CAD systems as our customers - supplemented by simulation and FE simulation programs whose precision makes our solutions optimally suited to real-world use.

In this context, the extreme requirements in the non-road area have received particular scrutiny underneath the microscope:

  • Dirt, wet, mud
  • Thermal shock conditions
  • Extremely low surface temperatures,
    e.g. combine harvesters
  • Mechanical strain caused by extreme vibrations,
e.g. construction, agricultural or mining machinery

In order to meet these requirements, we use state-of-the-art manufacturing methods in our production processes. The creation of "Centers of Competence" has generated a new dynamic in terms of process innovations, laying the groundwork for us to make our contribution as technology leaders in the mobile world of the future.

All Eberspächer departments are backed up by a quality management system which corresponds to the TS 16949 global standard and which is steadfastly committed to the zero defect strategy. Furthermore, all Eberspächer plants are certified to ISO 9001, QS 9000, VDA 6.1 and ISO 14001.
